Pretty You…Comfy Feet

One of my favorite obsessions of the moment (errr…life time) are slippers.  Now, of course, it would not be lavish of me to be fond of any old slipper.  I am in love with Pretty You London slippers! My grandmother calls them house shoes…my niece, bedroom shoes. I have no cares about how they are referred; I just know they are magnificently gorgeous.  Now, me being me, I could not just have one pair. I needed the slipper Gods to rain down multiple pairs! And they did!

Every lavishly living girl out there should slip her perfectly pedicured toes into lap of feet luxury (at least once).

Pretty…check      Comfy…check      Price….ummm, you decide.  I decided YES!

Lavishly Antiquing…

Antiquing was never considered to be my idea of a fun day.  Who wants to get old dust on new clothes?? You know who is not raising her hand!   But… hmmm…I thought to myself…this blog is about living this life of my through different lenses, so why not give antiquing a try.

I discovered there is a massive amount of history hidden amongst the dust.  There were some items that really peaked my curiosity and some that I had no clue on how or why they exist.  Things that garnered my attention and the things that were just “ehh” had one major factor in common.  Both were expensive!!  So as you can image, I navigated VERY slowly and carefully throughout the store.  I could just envision my new drool worthy winter boots not joining the closet family if I tipped over a priceless tea cup.  No…I am okay without the tea cup.

I have been told to be considered antique an item has to be at least 100 years old…well, I am half way there!

Muscles and Mascara

I love going to the gym. There is so much to do there…meet up to laugh with girlfriends, share the latest family news, love life updates and oh yeah… workout.  I did not develop this love until I was in my 40s.  As a matter of fact, I would have much rather walked on a bed of nails than to be found in a gym.  The fitness equipment looked like a form of torture and who would wants to indulge in self torture…not I!  Thank the heavens my outlook changed.

I was out strolling through the mall one day and I ran upon this wonderful little tee.  Muscles and Mascara…that is me (minus the muscles).  I aspire to have muscles where my fat is hanging on for dear life.  This is one of the reasons I keep going to the gym.  I have faith that one day after a body pump session and an hour shaking it at Zumba I will awake perfectly toned and bikini ready.  Until then, I will continue to enjoy the laughs, family news, and love life updates.

Where it all began…

I am sure you have spent many sleepless nights wondering where the idea of adding this blog baby to my lovely perfectly planned  life originated (insert loud laugh)?

Well, it began as a secret dream. This dream spoke to me for months…THEN the day that changed my life happened!  The day of awaking was a big hat brunch.  This brunch was my birthday celebration. It was hosted by four members of my small and closely knit beautiful bosses brigade.  These beautiful bosses came from far and near…by plane, car, and escort to wear huge hats and join me in celebration. Even the ones who were not there physically made their presence known.

Everything from A to Z was planned to perfection.  Many parts rendered me completely speechless (which is hard to do).  As I looked around the room at the gorgeous women who populated it, I realized that I have more than enough wind beneath my wings to turn this secret dream into reality.  These marvelous mavens have supported me through so much (wonderful and devastating) and have given me more strength than they (or I) realized. It is because of their love and support that this blog baby was born.

Thanks to my beautiful boss brigade….you know who you are!

Cat eyes are not just for felines

I know that I have a ton of favorite things.  However, what I did not realize is that my favorites are things that I have more than one of.   So, I have surmised that my favorite things should be called items I am OBSESSED with (husband would totally agree).

At the moment, my favorite obsession are cat eyed sunglasses.  They are super fun, come in many designs, and never go out of style.  Now as I think about it…my cat eyed sunglass obsession is a good thing because I can wear them forever. Therefore, these are an investment!  I will relay this epiphany to husband; I am sure he will see it my way.

Add the perfect exclamation point to your summer ensemble with a pair of these type sunnies.  You will not regret it!

What an amazing day to begin a blog!

I am beginning this journey(my blog) to celebrate the ending of my 40s and entrance of my 50s. When I was much younger, I often thought this chapter in my life would be filled with doctor’s appointments, denture cream, sensible shoes, and frequent naps (do not misunderstand, I LOVE a nap). Instead of preparing myself for the nursing home, I made the choice to tread territories that I never thought were possible. So I decided to put on one of my favorite dresses, grab a pair of heels, and get all dolled up to get this new lease on life started.
My life thus far has been a rich, bountiful, blessed, luxurious, beautiful race and at this juncture I have decided to sit, relax and savor my world by living it at my own pace… one glorious and glamorous minute at a time. Hence the name of my blog, Lavish Cafe.
Thank you for joining my journey!
